Qoder is Alibaba's agentic coding platform, launched in August 2025 and reaching its 1.0 milestone in 2026. Unlike traditional AI coding assistants that focus on inline completion, Qoder is built around autonomous agents designed to take on complete software tasks. Within months of launch the platform reported more than 5 million users globally, making it one of the fastest-growing entrants in the agentic IDE space.

Key Features

Qoder centers on two distinct workflows. Agent Mode is a chat-driven pair programmer with checkpoints, letting developers collaborate interactively while retaining the ability to roll back changes. Quest Mode is fully autonomous, taking a high-level request and shipping tested, multi-file features end to end. A multi-model routing layer selects between Claude, GPT, and Gemini models, choosing the cheapest acceptable model for each task to balance cost and quality. The platform also builds a persistent understanding of your repository to ground its suggestions in real project context.

Pricing

Qoder uses credit-based pricing. The Pro plan is $30/month for 2,000 credits, Pro+ is $60/month, and Ultra is $200/month for roughly 20x usage. A Teams plan runs $40 per seat per month with 3,000 credits. Additional credits can be purchased at $0.02 each with no commitment. There is no permanent free tier, though trials are available.
